چکیده

Due to their noise-like features, SAR images are difficult to acquire with compressed sensing techniques. However, some parts of the images, typically associated to man-made structures, are compressible and we investigate two techniques exploiting that information to allow a compressive acquisition of the whole image. These techniques result in a significant enhancement of the image quality compared to classical compressed sensing. Moreover, compared to classical sampling and quantisation of the SAR raw data, they allow a significant reduction of bitrate with a limited increase of the distortion. However, their efficiency depends strongly on the presence of compressible parts in the image.

The Effects of Data Compression on SAR Change Detection

The performance of coherent and non-coherent change detection algorithms is evaluated using complex SAR data that have been processed with various data compression approaches; the hope is that it may be possible to achieve higher compression ratios than could be achieved using classical image compression approaches such as BAQ (block adaptive quantization). BAQ compression is typically applied ...

Sparse Model and Sparse Recovery with Ultra-wideband SAR Applications

This paper presents a simple yet very effective timedomain sparse representation and the associated sparse recovery techniques that can robustly capture raw ultra-wideband (UWB) synthetic aperture radar (SAR) records. Unlike previous approaches in compressed sensing for SAR, we take advantage of the sparsity and the correlation directly in the raw received pulses before even attempting image fo...

SAR Data Compression with Respect to Polarimetric and Interferometric Applications

In this paper SAR raw data and SAR image data compression is addressed. For SAR raw data compression we suggest a modified FFT-BAQ. Significant advantages in performance are achieved compared to the standard BAQ and integration in the processing chain is feasible to reduce computational requirements. SAR image compression is mainly performed in wavelet domain. Depending on the application a con...

Linear Array Sar Imaging via Compressed Sensing

In recent years, various attempts have been undertaken to obtain three-dimensional (3-D) reflectivity of observed scene from synthetic aperture radar (SAR) technique. Linear array SAR (LASAR) has been demonstrated as a promising technique to achieve 3-D imaging of earth surface. The common methods used for LASAR imaging are usually based on matched filter (MF) which obeys the traditional Nyquis...
